Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has taken action against 52 newspaper publications for paid news or on charges of misconduct. Acting on the recommendations of the Press Council of India, Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP) has suspended these publications from its empaneled list for two months. It has also been decided that the censured publications which are not empaneled with DAVP would not be eligible for the same for two months.
